Job Description

This Part Time Internship opportunity will be located at USRA HQ in Columbia, Maryland. In this role, you will be supporting the STEMaction Center. The intern will assist the USRA K-12 STEM Education staff with various tasks related to organization, may build demo robots, inventory materials, and perform other tasks.

USRA STEMaction Center works to inspire, engage, and develop the next-generation science and technology workforce through K-12 science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs. The 18,000 square foot facility operates as an innovation hub for STEM programing in the Baltimore-Washington Corridor as a host location for a number of workshops along with practice facilities for the FIRST family of programs.

Students who previously participated in Science and Technology programs, robotics and/or programming involving children are given priority.

USRA is a non-profit university organization established in 1969 under the auspices of the National Academy of Sciences.  USRA is chartered to advance science, technology, and engineering by bring together universities, industry, and government.

This job operates in a professional office environment with the opportunity to work or interact with scientists. This role routinely uses the MS suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Extensive online usage.
