Job Description

The full-time multimedia producer will create and manage multimedia content for NASA space and astrophysics missions. The producer will work with a team of science writers, animators, data visualizers, and social media managers to create a wide array of multimedia products for diverse audiences. 


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Produces multimedia content illustrating milestones and science results for NASA’s space science and astrophysics missions. Products include video formatted for social media channels, video news releases, live video programming, educational programming, and webcasts.
  • Pitches ideas, writes scripts, operates cameras, creates motion graphics, edits video, and works with communications and social media team to distribute content.
  • Works with animators and data visualizers to create graphics and animation content illustrating complex science concepts.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor degree in video/film production, science journalism, or science related field.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in video or multimedia production, science communication or multimedia.
  • Experience with all phases of the video and multimedia production.
  • Strong interest in science and expertise in translating complex subject matter.


  • Familiarity with NASA’s astrophysics and space science missions.
  • Experience working with animators, data visualizers, and graphics professionals.
