Job Description

Program Coordinator provides support to the EPO Program Manager by managing assigned tasks or phase(s) of a project. Under direct supervision of the Program Manager, this person assists in all phase(s) of a project and is responsible for the following specific areas of project management including but not limited to scheduling, business requirements, and other operational duties needed.


Position Summary:

Assist program manager in all aspects of project management including project planning, data gathering, analysis, development, communication, status tracking, implementation, monitoring, and follow-up, associated with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Scholars Program at Eglin Air Force Base (EAFB).


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Follow-up on project issues with project manager(s) to assist in the development of solutions.
  • Follow through on action items generated from project team meetings.
  • Participate in required meetings, activities, and related projects and relevant interdepartmental activities.
  • Perform special projects as requested by Program Manager.
  • Conduct the selection process for highly capable scholars, facilitate relocation arrangements.
  • Oversee mentor project, application process and administer scholar profiles.
  • Coordinate security clearance with AFRL Safety Personnel and USRA Headquarters Facilities Security Officer; guide scholars through the process to obtain interim security clearance.
  • Integrate best practices and innovative approaches to streamline internship program and implementation plan.
  • Coordinate all logistics for students, seminars, enrichments activities, and guest speaker(s).
  • Assist in the tracking of AFRL alumni through the collection of data.

Required Qualifications:


A bachelor’s degree in education, business management, administration, or related degree required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

1-3 years relevant experience of successful experience administering related projects or educational programs.

  • High degree of communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently requiring time management, self-reliance, and strong work ethic.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to secure a government security background investigation approval at the Secret Security Clearance level.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekend, as necessary.


  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and transition easily between complex projects requiring simultaneous attention.
  • Assimilate, analyze, delegate, and respond to daily contractual, technical, and business operations issues.
  • Possess a high degree of flexibility and ability to maintain professional and effective public relations during daily communications with USRA staff, management, and AFRL intern management and coordinator team.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and its applications.
  • Ability to adeptly learn USRA and AFRL technology platforms.

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Extensive online usage. This is largely a sedentary role.


Minimal travel required.
