Job Description

USRA is an independent, nonprofit research corporation where the combined efforts of in-house talent and university-based expertise merge to advance space science and technology. USRA is seeking a full time Scientific Analyst in gathering organized information and data from Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) stations, configure the correlator control files, and correlate data. The position will also perform analysis on the correlator output, correcting through control files and fringing potential problems at the various stations. This role will export the data for public use and act as a backup system administrator on several servers where the output of the correlator is analyzed.

Required Skills:

Education:

  •   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the physical sciences or math. 

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  • Must have experience with Linux operating systems at an administrator level. This can include experience such as installation and maintaining own Linux system, including installing and maintaining software packages. 
  • Must have working knowledge of one or more of several languages including C, Python, Shell Scripts, and Perl Scripts
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
